
The final product. I drew over the original model to match the main Treasure Planet poster. Once I had finished shading the character I did a bit of color grading and finished it off with a lens flare from the glowing orb in his hand.

I added a bit more volume to the original nebula so the piece has that same sense of wonder from the original picture. A hiccup I had when working on this was the light from the stars within the nebula would drown out the scene, so to remedy that I rendered the nebula separately in its own project. Once it was rendered out, I dropped the finished PNG into the project file.

Unlike the first piece, rather than use a mannequin, I used a model to better position the hands and legs in the proper location so that it more closely resembles the original.

This is the image that inspired this piece in the first place. I wanted to pay homage to one of my favorite childhood movies.
